We found ourselves in a classic Luke 10 situation at Waterval.

Mac and Susan overwhelmed us with a tangible warm welcome opening their hearts and home to us.

Mac took Clara under his wing to teach and train her how to grow from seed and make cuttings.

Susan took Linel and Clara into the nursery and packed the car with more than hundred small trees.

Wikus had the privilege to visit with his cousins, Mac's brothers, while the others were busy in the nursery. Laughter echoed from the family reunion.

The privilege of praying for Mac's healing and leaving a blessing over their farm was our parting gift. In town Susan bought us brunch at her daughter Karien's art gallery and coffee shop called "Lighuis".

Not only was the decision to visit Waterval and the Jordaans a huge blessing, we could also stop at Clara's family this time. She worked on their fruit farm in her early twenties.

We were exposed to modern commercial farming and labor intensive practices to achieve maximum high quality produce. Louis took us on a tour to the vineyards and orchards he managed with his two sons.

We didn't leave without gifts.

This time we got aloe plants, passion fruit seeds, fresh peas and jam.

Most of all a trailor was offered us to make space on the back seat where our luggage landed with a boot full of trees.

We decided to name our tailor

"The first follower."

Even this blessing came as a result of visiting and staying over at the Jordaans at Waterval, which now seemed to be the pivotal point of our Luke 10 experience. We headed for our base for the next few days in Northern Paarl.

We unpacked the trees at Ronel's house and settled in before leaving to have dinner with friends in Stellenbosch.
